Yoga vs. Pilates
Gretchen Reynolds unpacks the differences, citing a longitudinal study on the effects of Pilates on the abdominal muscles: “Pilates can be recommended as an effective method to reinforce the muscles of the abdominal wall and to compensate pre-existing asymmetric developments.” Yoga seems to have effects beyond the abdomen. A 2011 study found that young men and women who did 6 months of daily sun salutations could complete more push-ups and pull-ups and bench press more weight than before.

OK, that's from Wikipedia but not far from the understanding I have learned over the years... Pilates is form of exercise."
